Licio Romao was born in Recife, PE, Brazil in 1990. He received Bs degree  in Electrical Engineering from the [http://www.dee.ufcg.edu.br/ University of Campina Grande] in 2014 and Ms degree in Electrical Engineering from the [https://www.fee.unicamp.br/ University of Campinas] in 2017. He was an exchange undergraduate student at the [https://web.uniroma2.it/ University of Roma Tor Vergata](2012-2013) and he did a six-month research internship at the [https://ucsd.edu/ Univerisity of California San Diego](2016-2017). He is a DPhil (PhD) Candidate at the University of Oxford in the Department of Engineering Science. His advisers are [http://sysos.eng.ox.ac.uk/wiki/index.php/User:Antonis Prof. Antonis Papachristodoulou] and [https://sites.google.com/site/margellosk/home Prof. Kostas Margellos]. He is supported by [http://www.capes.gov.br/ CAPES], a Foundation within the Ministry of Education in Brazil. His research interests focus on structural properties of interconnected complex systems using optimisation with the aim of applying this knowledge to foster development in important areas, such as System Biology and Power System Networks.

His research focuses on data-driven optimisation algorithms and their application to decision making in power systems under uncertainty, and on distributed and decentralized algorithms to solve large-scale optimisation problems. Background

Licio Romao was born in Recife, PE, Brazil in 1990. He received BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campina Grande in 2014 and MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas in 2017. During his undergraduate degree, He spent 10 months at the University of Roma Tor Vergata(2012-2013). He was also a visiting scholar for six-month at the Univerisity of California San Diego(2016-2017). He is currently a DPhil (PhD) Candidate at the University of Oxford in the Department of Engineering Science under the supervision of Prof. Antonis Papachristodoulou and Prof. Kostas Margellos. He is supported by CAPES, a Foundation within the Ministry of Education in Brazil. His research focuses on data-driven optimisation algorithms and their application to decision making in power systems under uncertainty, and on distributed and decentralized algorithms to solve large-scale optimisation problems. Other topics of my research include statistical learning theory and the design of control systems.
