Research

My research interests lie in biochemical signalling networks, particularly two component networks within bacteria. I am interested in how they are connected, their localisation and mechanisms of signal termination.

Within this project I am working on helping create the models and then performing the experiments on live bacteria to provide the data to invalidate the models.

Once determined I will also test the predicted connectivity using biochemical interaction techniques such as SPR and yeast two hybrid

Teaching

I am the biochemistry tutor for Lincoln College and teach 1st year molecular cell biology, 2nd and 3rd yr microbial metabolism and sensing and on the 4th year systems biology option. I also teach on bacterial signalling in the I&I option of the FHS Medical Sciences course.
