Description

Designing and implementing effective methods of control in a living cell has the potential to dramatically change biotechnology. However, before this potential is realised, a number of both theoretical and practical challenges must be met. The workshop on control and synthetic biology covered both the challenges and the opportunities involved with this area. Both synthetic biology and control engineering topics were discussed.

  • Control Engineering Themes:

Modelling, analysis, and design of reliable synthetic circuits as well as regulation of synthetic processes.

  • Synthetic Biology Themes:

Challenges and opportunities for implementing designs and enabling effective synthetic regulation and control.

Confirmed Speakers

  • Dr Lionel Clarke, UK Synthetic Biology Leadership Council.
  • Dr Jordan Ang, Imperial College London.
